Aribo hits eight goal of the season in Rangers win over Hibernian

Joe Aribo scored his eighth goal of the season for Scottish champion Rangers to lead them to a comfortable 2-1 win over Hibernian at Ibrox on Sunday.

 

The Super Eagles midfielder opened the scoring for the Steven Gerrard’s side in the 20th minute.

 

The 25-year-old collected a pass from Kemar Roofe, before drilling his shot beyond Ofir Marciano in goal for the visitors.

 

The former Charlton Athletics midfielder has now scored eight goals for the club in the league alone this season .

 

The Gers continued to dominate, but they had to wait for another 40 minute, before the second goal of the game arrived.

 

This time, Steven Davis was the creator as he set up Ryan Kent for the goal and it was his 12 league goals of the season.

 

The visitors however halved the deficit in the 70th minutes, thanks to a perfect strike from Kelvin Nibset off an assist from Paul McGinn.

 

Rangers held on for the for victory to take their total tally for the season to 92 points.

 

The victory means Rangers have now opened twenty points lead ahead of second placed Glasgow Celtic.
