Lucas Torreira scored the only goal of the game in the 83rd minutes to help Arsenal beat Huddersfield in the EPL game on Saturday, but Nigeria forward Alex Iwobi insists the team was lucky to get the win.
Following the disappointing 2-2 draw at away to Manchester United last Wednesday, The Unai Emery side needed a win over visitors to strengthen their next season champions league football ambition but they were made to work hard for it as Huddersfield stood firm against every Arsenal’s attack until seven minutes to the end of the game when Torreira broke the deadlock with a superb volley.
While reflecting on the game, Iwobi said the team’s attitude, believeand luck was the deciding factor in the game , while reiterating the commitment of the team to finish in the top three at the end of the season.
“It was actually a difficult match; knowing fully well that Huddersfield Town players actually created a defence lock down, which made it difficult for us to create opening for goals.“
“We were fortunate enough that at the end of the day, we got the only goal that gave us the three points in the match. “Our aim is to keep pushing to ensure we actually finish the season as top three.“
“We drew against Manchester United and we knew we cannot afford to draw or lose at home against Huddersfield,” the player added.“
