The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation released the lineup of players set to compete in the upcoming 2024 ITTF African Cup and Olympics Qualification Tournament, slated to occur in Kigali, Rwanda from May 12 to 18.

Headlining Team Nigeria squad are former African number one, Quadri Aruna alongside Olajide Omotayo, Offiong Edem and Fatimo Bello.

In adherence to the tournament regulations, each country is required to field two men and two women for the African Cup.

Defending champions Egypt will bolster their ranks with three players each in both the men’s and women’s categories, while hosts Rwanda will showcase four representatives in each gender.

Quadri, who reached the final in the 2022 edition held in Lagos, faces formidable opposition from the Egyptian trio of Assar, Mohamed El-Beiali, and Youssef Abdel-Aziz.

He has a lot to prove during the Olympics Qualification Tournament, where he eyes his fourth appearance in the prestigious event.

The competition commences on May 16 at the BK Arena in Kigali.
