Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem featured for the complete duration in CD Leganes’ 2-0 away loss to Barcelona at Camp Nou on Tuesday.
Chidozie Awaziem who has now started both games since La Liga returned, had a game to forget as he struggled to curtail 17 years old Ansu Fati all night.
While Awaziem and other defenders were struggling to limit the threats posed by Lionel Messi, Ansu Fati, and Antoine Griezman, Leganes on the part had two big chances to take the lead but squandered both of them.
At the other end, Ansu Fati won Barcelona free kick in the vital area when he skipped past Awaziem on the right, only for the Nigerian to fouled the 17-year-old, but Leganes dealt with Messi’s dangerous free-kick perfectly.
