Akwa United head coach, Mohammed Babaganaru has expressed his disbelief after his team’s 2-1 home defeat to Sunshine Stars at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Saturday.

The loss marks Akwa United’s first of the season, leaving them winless after four matches in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Babaganaru described the result as disappointing, especially considering the number of chances his team created.

“I can’t believe we lost at home to Sunshine Stars after all the effort we made,” he said via the club’s official website. “We didn’t deserve the result we got because it was not a true reflection of what transpired.

“We created many goal-scoring opportunities, but how we didn’t bury those chances is what I don’t understand.”

Akwa United now face the challenge of bouncing back against Enyimba on Wednesday after their difficult start to the season.
