Balogun, Aribo and Co dethroned by Celtic as Scottish Champions

The reign of Leon Balogun, Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey as Scottish Champions have come to an end after Celtic clinched the crown on Wednesday evening.

Rangers won the crown last season, but their Old Firm rivals Celtics fought hard to reclaim the league title this term.

The Bhoys won the Scottish Premiership title after a 1-1 draw with Dundee United at Tannadice Park.

The result moves Ange Postecoglou’s side four points clear of second-place Rangers, who defeated Ross County with just one league match of the season remaining.

Giorgos Giakoumakis scored for the Parkhead side in the second half to claim the top-flight title in the Australian manager’s first season in charge at Celtic Park.

Celtic have now beat Rangers to the automatic Champions League slot for next season, but the Gers can still qualify by winning the Europa League.
