The Black Stars of Ghana are back in their country after clinching the 2022 FIFA World Cup ticket ahead of the Nigerian Super Eagles.

The Black Stars edged the Super Eagles of Nigeria on away goal rule to advance to the tournament to be hosted by Qatar later this year.

Thomas Partey was the hero for Ghana in Abuja as he gave the Black Stars an 11th-minute lead.

However, the lead did not last long as William Troost-Ekong restored parity from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute.

Nigeria failed to find the winner and the Black squeezed their way into Qatar 2022.

However, the Nigerian fans turned against their team, the Black Stars received heroic treatment from their fans and the President of the Country.

They left for Accra immediately after the game and they were received by the people at the airport.

President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo was seen having a conversation with coach Otto Addo on phone.

Akufo-Addo thanked the coach for delivering him a massive gift as today marks his 78th birthday.

Ghana has now returned to the World Cup after missing the last edition in Russia. They played at the tournament for the first time in 2006.
