Boniface bags second Bundelisga award nomination

Victor Boniface has been nominated for the prestigious Bundesliga Player of the Month award.

It is Boniface’s second nomination this week after been shortlisted for the Rookie of the Month award in the Bundesliga.

The Nigerian striker who made an exceptional start to the 2023/24season is one of the newcomers on the shortlist for the player of the month award.

The 22-year-old goes up against the talented Bayern Munich duo, Harry Kane and Alphonso Davies, as well as Union Berlin’s Kevin Behrens.

Additionally, players such as Wolfsburg’s Jonas Wind and Leipzig’s Benjamin Henrichs are also in contention for the award.

Having transferred from Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium, Boniface has already made a significant impact in Germany.

In just three league games, he has scored four goals and provided two assists for Bayer Leverkusen.

His exceptional performance last Saturday resulted in him scoring a brace, with his first goal being selected as one of the top five goals of matchday three in the Bundesliga.

His impeccable form earned him a call-up to the Super Eagles squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sao Tome.
