Super Eagles new boy Bright Osayi-Samuel reveals he would have said yes to Turkey or England, if Nigeria had not contacted him.
Osayi-Samuel born in Nigeria, moved to Spain at the age of 10, before leaving for England where he started his professional football career.
In England, he played for Blackpool and Queens Park Rangers before leaving for Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig, and where he became an instant hit with the fans.
And in an interview with the Independent (as per Fotospor), Osayi-Samuel stated that he kept his options open as per his international future.
“I have never played in the lower age categories in England. I have not played in Nigeria, either. I even thought of playing for Turkey,” he stated.
Osayi-Samuel eventually made his debut for Nigeria in the international friendly against Portugal in Lisbon this November.
Despite losing 4-0, Osayi-Samuel was impressive and won the penalty missed by winger Emmanuel Dennis.
