Brighton and Hove Albion passed on the opportunity to sign Victor Boniface from Union Saint-Gilloise last summer.
According to British tabloid, The Mirror, Brighton made an offer for the forward, but ended up missing out on his signature.
The Seagulls have good relationship with Union Saint-Gilloise, having signed several players from them, including the Kaoru Mitoma, Deniz Undav and Simon Adingra.
Roberto De Zerbi needed a new striker in just concluded summer window and Boniface was one of the forwards on their radar.
The in form Nigerian became a candidate for Brighton after a good period with Union SG where he scored 22 goals and registered 12 assists across all competitions.
However, De Zerbi’s side suddenly abandoned talks for Boniface and decided to sign Joao Pedro from Watford in a club-record £30m and Ansu Fati on loan from Barcelona.
While Joao Pedro and Ansu Fati are still struggling to adapt to Premier League, Boniface has hit the ground running with Bayer Leverkusen, notching up six goals and three assists in the Bundesliga.
