CAFCC: Rivers United Coach Stanley Eguma Eyes Win in Equatorial Guinea

Rivers United will begin their 2020-2021 CAF Confederation Cup campaign with a match against Futuro Kings in Equatorial Guinea and Stanley Eguma is confident his side can get a win on the road despite the team’s brief pre-season.

Rivers United are expected to travel to Equatorial Guinea for the first-leg, on an unspecified date, after pulling out of a pre-season tournament in Ijebu Ode.

Coach of the team, Stanley Eguma has confirmed his side are ready to go all out for a win, despite playing away from him in the first-leg against Futuro.

“We are looking for a win, you know it’s possible but we are not underrating our opponent

“The game of this magnitude is always a difficult task but we have the mindset that we will go there and see how we can finish the job at their backyard and then come back to Nigeria and see the return leg as a formality, that is our target so we are not resting on our oars,” he said.

Rivers United will travel to Equatorial Guinea for the first-leg of encounter against Futuro Kings this week, before returning to Port Harcourt for the reverse fixture.
