CHAN: Ezenwa blames NFF for Super Eagles Qualifiers failure

Super Eagles goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has heaped blame on the Nigeran football federation for the failure of the home-based team in their recent qualifying rounds of matches against Ghana.

Ghana sealed qualification via penalty kicks after Nigeria came back from the two-goal deficit in the first leg.

The home-based Super Eagles side put up a resilient show at the Moshood Abiola Stadium with goals from Zulkifilu Mohammed in the 76th minute and Chijioke Akuneto in the 94th minute sending the game into a penalty shootout where Ghana edged Nigeria 5-4.

Ezenwa speaking in a chat with brila.net stated that the federation missed it when they refused to bring the team together early enough for the preparation process.

The Russia 2018 World Cup goalkeeper believes the Nigerian side was not adequately prepared for the qualifiers.

This will be the second occasion this year Ghana will be stopping a national team from Nigeria from qualifying for a major competition.
