Chijioke Alaekwe relieved after scoring his first goal for Nasarawa United

Striker Alaekwe Chijioke is delighted to score his first league goal for Nasarawa United.

Alaekwe who joined the Club at the beginning of the season, ended his drought with a winner against neighbors Niger Tornadoes on Wednesday.

In-form Michael Tochukwu, found the former Kano Pillars’ hitman inside the box and he wasted no time to head home in the 23rd minute.

The goal was enough to earn the Solid Miners a place in the top 8 after 14 round of games.

“It’s a thing of joy; I am so overwhelmed to have scored my first goal since joining Nasarawa United this season.”

“I am adapting gradually to the environment and club, and I hope the goals keep coming.

“We are still alive to our ambitions – the league is still thrown open and continental tickets are still much available for all the teams.” Alaekwe said.

The former FC Ifeanyi Uba star will be aiming for another goal when Nasarawa United play Rivers United in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, coming weekend in the NPFL matchday fifteen.
