Nigerian forward Samuel Chukwueze is confident that Villarreal can win the UEFA Champions League this season.
Chukwueze wrote his name in the history book of Villareal when he scored the goal that sent the Club to the UEFA Champions League semifinal at the expense of favorite Bayern Munich.
The Nigerian winger equalized in the 88th minute at the Allianz Arena and rendered Robert Lewandowski’s goal in the 52nd minute useless.
Villarreal advanced to the last four 2-1 on aggregate, having won the first leg in Spain 1-0.
The Yellow Submarine will now face Liverpool for a place in the final of the prestigious competition and Chukwueze believes they aren’t scared of any team.
“Yes, it is not easy to beat the best teams, we beat Bayern Munich, one of the best teams. We aren’t scared, because if you want to win the competition, you have to beat the best teams and that’s what we want to do” He told UEFA.com.
Villarreal only ever made it into a Champions League semifinal in 2006, and they now await the winner between Liverpool and Benfica.
