Nigeria forward, Gift Monday has officially left Costa Adeje Tenerife for a move to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) with Washington Spirit.
Her departure was confirmed by the Spanish Liga F club, ending nearly three seasons with the team.
Impressive Spell in Spain
Monday, who joined Tenerife in 2022 from FC Robo Queens (Nigeria Women Football League), played over 70 matches for the club.
She departs as the team’s top scorer for the 2024/25 season with 12 goals and three assists in 19 Liga F matches and two Copa de la Reina appearances.
In total, she scored 22 goals during her time with the club.
She was named Liga F’s Best Player in February 2025.

Monday’s move to Washington Spirit will see her join a growing list of Nigerian players in the NWSL, including:
