Côte d’Ivoire has been awarded the hosting rights for the 2025 West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Women’s Champions League Qualifiers, the sub-regional body confirmed.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from August 9 to 24, 2025, with top women’s league champions from Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Benin Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, and Burkina Faso competing for a spot.
Côte d’Ivoire will host the WAFU-B Qualifiers for the fourth time, having previously done so in 2021, 2022, and 2024.
The tournament has seen previous winners including Hasaacas Ladies (Ghana), Bayelsa Queens (Nigeria), and Edo Queens (Nigeria).
Nigeria played host to the 2023 edition in Benin City, where Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa emerged victorious.
The winner of the 2025 WAFU-B Qualifiers will represent the West African sub-region at the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Nigeria’s representative for the competition will be determined by the outcome of the 2024/25 NWFL Premiership playoffs is ongoing in Ikenne.
Contending for the national crown are Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, Naija Ratels, Edo Queens, Remo Stars Ladies, and Nasarawa Amazons.
The eventual NWFL champions will aim to continue Nigeria’s strong tradition in the WAFU-B tournament, with the nation having produced two of the last four champions.
