Former coach of Nigeria’s women national team Christopher Danjuma has stated that Nigeria’s Super Falcons can be inspired by the arrival of the FIFA women’s world cup trophy as the trophy tour visits Nigeria ahead of the Super Falcons participation at this summer’s FIFA women’s world cup in France.
Danjuma speaking in a chat with www.brila.netsaid the arrival of the world cup trophy in Nigeria can put the team in the positive frame of mind and set the to see the reality of what they are competing for at the world cup which he feels can spur the team on to raise their game in a bid to make the dream of lifting the trophy come to reality.
“It’s a positive move in the right direction and it gives the team the awareness that what they are fighting for is actually here in Nigeria. I think it will have a way of inspiring the team to more work and it will help the team see things more in a different light and not just going to feature at the world cup alone but competing to earn the trophy.”
Nigeria’s women national team are in group A at the FIFA women’s world cup alongside host nation France, South Korea and Norway.
