Dessers desperate to end Serie A goal drought

Dessers desperate to end Serie A goal drought

Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers admits he is looking forward to his first goal for Cremonese.

Dessers is currently experiencing his longest goal drought, haven failed to score in any of his seven games for Cremonese this season.

Dessers arrived the club after an impressive start in the Belgian Jupiler league in July, where he scored three goals and assisted two.

The Forward however hasn’t been able to replicate the form in Italy, failing to score in seven games for Cremonese.

Speaking on his drought Dessers says, he’s desperate to put an end to it, but must continue to work hard for the team.

“It is not easy as a striker not to score, but I continue to look forward to it. I know that if I do my job for the team, the results and goals will come.”

And on Cremonese 4-0 defeat to Lazio last Sunday, the 27-year-old forward said the team made mistakes and paid dearly for it.

“We tried to play man against man, sometimes we made it difficult when we took risks, but we didn’t try hard enough. But we will be able to analyze this and we will certainly be able to do better,” He concluded.

Dessers is expected to be in action when Cremonese visit Lecce on October 2.
