Cyriel Dessers was the hero as he scored the winner for Feyenoord against Maduka Okoye’s Sparta Rotterdam in Sunday’s Dutch Eredivisie match.
While Maduka Okoye retained his place in Sparta Rotterdam’s line up, Dessers started from the bench, but was introduced for Bryan Linssen six minutes after hour mark.
Okoye made good saves to his team in game, but Cyriel rendered all his efforts useless when he scored the winner on the 92nd minute.
Dessers who’s on loan from from Genk volleyed a cross into the far corner and Maduka Okoye could do nothing to stop the ball from going in.
It was a disappointing result for Sparta Rotterdam, because they had the best chances of the game, however they paid heavily for not taking any.
The victory put Feyenoord in third place, four points behind Ajax, while dropped remain in relegation zone (17th of 18) with just seven points from eleven matches.
