Nigeria will end the year as the highest ranked African team in FIBA Men’s World Ranking released on Wednesday.
D’Tigers moved up two points and will end the year 21st in the the ranking.
The team had enjoyed a steady rise on the ranking as they moved from 33rd Position to 23rd in the world back in September.
Nigeria garnered a total of 433.3 points to moved to 21st place in the world, thanks to their good form during the Tokyo Olympics qualifiers.
D’tigers also won all three matches played at the just concluded AfroBasket qualifier in Kigali, Rwanda.
They defeated hosts Rwanda, South Sudan and Mali to finish first in the group.
