The Pride of Rivers have enjoyed some of the best forms this season as they currently top the NPFL log with 39 points and will be banking on this consistency to finish as leaders going into the mid-season break.

It has been a mixed season for the Promised keepers as they currently occupy the 6th position on the log with 27 points, 12 points behind their host Rivers United.

Head to head:

Rivers United have won 7 of the 16 meetings between the two sides with Akwa United winning 6. 3 matches have however ended in a draw.

The latest fixture in July ended in a 1-1 draw at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium with Rivers United’s Bamba Bakary scoring late (87′) in the game to draw level after Charles Atshimene had given Akwa United the lead in the 53rd minute.
