Ekezie hopes D’Tigers players blends in time for the Tokyo Olympics

Former Nigerian NBA player Obinna Ekezie has stated that he hopes the Nigeria Men basketball national team D’Tigers blend well ahead of the fast approaching Tokyo Olympics stressing that the talents pool of players available to head coach Mike Brown is good enough.

Ekezie speaking in a chat with brila.net stressed that while he has express confidence in the talent pool, he is a bit concerned about the team’s chemistry which is a very important index for the success of the team at the games proper. He added that they will have to ensure the team have games to play between now and the games to be in top shape for the Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

“Talents wise we are as good as I won’t say maybe the American team is always very strong but the Nigerian talents all over the world is amazing, now the question I always ask is how much time these players have to play with each other and develop and train and understand the nuances of playing with each other. You don’t build chemistry overnight and that’s the issue. Hopefully these players will come train, play exhibition games, get to know each other and to be able to know each other which is what they will need to be successful at the games.”
