On Monday, Barcelona will reveal Ernesto Valverde as the man who is to replace Luis Enrique at the Nou Camp.

Enrique announced earlier in the season that he’ll no longer become in charge of the Catalan giants next term and Barcelona has agreed a deal with Athletic Bilbao boss – Ernesto Valverde.

Just few minutes after the Catalans’ 4-2 victory over Eibar on Sunday, Barcelona’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu tweeted “On Monday 29 May we will announce the new coach.”

According to Spanish publication Sport, Ernesto Valverde who is the current head coach at Bilbao will be the man to succeed Luiz Enrique, who after three largely successful campaigns has decided to move on.

Luiz Enrique is set to step down as Barcelona boss.

Their report claims that Valverde, who had a brief spell with Barca as a player between 1988-1990 now has a new home in the outskirts of the city.

Valverde began his tenure as Athletic Bilbao’s boss in 2013, securing Champions League football for his team in its first season.

And Barcelona will be hoping that with his experience, the Catalans will be a strong contender for the La Liga title next season.
