Following Arsenal’s defeat to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in English Premier league Monday night, former Manchester United left back Patrick Evra has called the entire Gunners squad babies.
The Unai Emery’s men failed to live up to expectations against Chris Wilder’s side and missed out on the opportunity to return to top four.
Nigerian-born English youngster Bukayo Saka played the entire minutes of the embarrassing defeat , but it was record signing Nikolas Pepe who wasted golden chance to rescue the team from defeat.
Reacting to the defeat, Patrice Evra who enjoyed great success against the Gunners during his active days , said the Gunners are yet to improve on their weak mentality.
He added that Saka and his teammates deserves the defeat and are toothless without the goals of Emerick Aubameyang and Alexander Lacazette.
“Sheffield United deserved the win, but I’m not surprised about Arsenal. I said before the game that they had to make sure they didn’t fall into the trap.”
“I used to call them ‘my babies’ 10 years ago, and they are still when I look at them and think they are ‘my babies’ and that’s the truth – I’m not being disrespectful when I say that.
“They look pretty, but they don’t look like a winning team. They like playing good football, but I was so happy to play against them, because I knew I was going to win.
“Even when Robin van Persie came, and on the first day I shook his hand, and I said ‘welcome to a man club’. At the beginning he was upset, but after one month he said ‘you were completely right Patrice.
“Guendouzi was paying in midfield, but before he was playing in the French second league and he was not even playing regularly – and he’s the best player in this team.
“I respect Aubameyang and Lacazette, but if those two guys don’t score, they’re in trouble, and nothing changes. I’m like, ‘where is Arsene?’ It is the same.”
Sheffield United have now won consecutive top-flight matches against Arsenal for the first time since October 1964 and Emery’s men have lost four of their last seven Premier League away games against newly-promoted sides (W3), as many defeats as in their previous 49 (W33 D12 L4).
