Former Nigeria international Friday Ekpo has warned the Super Eagles against growing complacent based on the quality of football played so far at the AFCON and the tough challenge posed already by the supposed lesser country against the bigger teams.
Ekpo speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said, more importantly, is for the Super Eagles to even step up further their performance after a laborious 1-0 win over Burundi in the Eagles’ first group stage game over the last weekend.
“There are no minnows in this AFCON as far as I’m concerned so we need to buckle our belt to play out to the best of the abilities in our players and get the three points in our next game to gradually get us to the knockout stage.
“So there are no minnows in this nations cup as far as I am concerned.”
