Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol believes that Victor Osimhen would be an ideal signing if Mohamed Salah were to leave the club.

Nicol, who now serves as a pundit on ESPN, has encouraged Liverpool to pursue the forward in the event of Salah’s departure.

Reports suggest that Salah could be targeted by Saudi Pro League clubs this summer, prompting Liverpool to consider his future at the club.

“The fact that Salah will leave, regardless of whether it will be this year or next, Osimhen? I think he would be fantastic for Liverpool,” Nicol told ESPN.

Osimhen is wanted by Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris St Germain, but the forward signed a new deal last year with a buyout clause of around €120m.
