Ezekiel talks tough ahead of Kwara United’s clash with RS Berkane

Tamara Ezekiel is optimistic about the chances of Kwara United reaching the Group phase of the 2022-2023 CAF Confederation Cup.

The Harmony Boys defeated Niger side AS Douanes 3-0 on aggregate to reach the last preliminary round of the competition.

Kwara United will now face RS Berkane for the place in the lucrative group phase of the competition.

North African teams have proved to the nemesis of Nigerian team in CAF competitions, with Remo Stars losing out to AS FAR already this season.

In a chat with brila.net, Ezekiel said Kwara United respect what the North Africans have achieved on the continent, but insists history won’t matter when both clash on the pitch.

“We respect what they have been doing on the continent, they have dominating the tournament and it’s not an easy thing to do.

“However we have faith in ourselves and the technical crew, we aren’t afraid of anyone.”

“We our aim is to reach the Group phase and even go beyond that,” The midfielder told brila.net.

Kwara United will host RS Berkane for the first leg at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium in Lagos on October 7.
