Fernando Hierro has been appointed as Spain Manager and will appear before the media accompanied by the president of the RFEF, Luis Rubiales.
The news follows the shock announcement earlier today that Spain has fired manager Julen Lopetegui on the eve of the World Cup – due to his decision to join Real Madrid.
Hierro will be in the dugout on Friday when Spain begin their campaign in the Group B opener against Portugal and will remain in charge throughout the World Cup in Russia.
Next, he will direct his first training and on Friday he will debut in Sochi at the premiere of Spain against Portugal.
The RFEF calls the media at 6:30 p.m. (local time, 5:30 p.m. Spanish time) in the Krasnodar Stadium press room.
