Feyenoord Manager Arne Slot hinted that the club may have given up hope to securing Cyriel Dessers on a permanent deal, but admits the situation is now more complicated than before.
The Dutch Eredivisie side have the option of signing Dessers, but are holding off for lesser than Genk’s asking price of 4 million Euros.
Speaking on the situation, Feyenoord boss, Arne Slot revealed the club now faces a bidding war with other clubs for the services of the KRC Genk Player.
Slot admits the situation with the player is now more complicated and could be nearly impossible to sign the Nigerian international.
“It becomes more or less clear what we have to pay ourselves to keep Dessers in De Kuip,” Arne Slot told Dutch newspapers Ed.
“But that will also depend on the player. It seems logical to me that many other clubs will be interested.”
Dessers is Feyenoord top scorer this season with 20 goals in all competitions, with half of the goals coming in the Europa Conference League.
