Feyenoord has only today, June 1st to exercise the option to sign Cyriel Dessers, their hero from last season, permanently from Genk.
Dessers signed for Feyenoord on a season-long loan and repaid the club with impressive performances all through the campaign.
Feyenoord however would like to continue with Dessers, who scored 20 goals in 42 matches and helped them reach the final of the Conference League, but haven’t paid the €4m asking price.
The four million euros, is said to be a lot of money for Feyenoord at the moment and the two clubs have been negotiating for weeks, but Genk is not ready to lower the price.
The Limburgers haven’t closed the door on the 27-year-old striker either and could return if Feyernood fails to sign him.
