Five goals in four starts: How Odion Ighalo’s heroic sent United to Wembley

Odion Ighalo was on target for Manchester United as they beat Premier League strugglers Norwich City at Carrow Road to reach FA Cup fifth round on Saturday.

The on-loan forward from Shanghai Shenhua was handed his fourth start since joining the club back in January.

Ighalo wasted no time before he grabbed his third goal for Manchester United in the oldest football competition in the world.

The 31-year-old scored the opener inside the opening five minutes when he flicked the ball past Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul for his fifth goal of the season.

Norwich eliminated Tottenham Hotspurs in the previous round and they won’t go down without a fight, as Todd Cantwell’s strike from distance canceled out Ighalo’s opener later on.

The home side was reduced to ten men after Timm Klose was sent off in the 89th minute for bringing down Odion Ighalo.

United later broke Norwich’s resistance in the extra time when Harry Maguire reacted quickest to fired home the winner in the 118th minute.

United has now booked their place in the semi-final of the competition.
