Emile Smith Rowe has advised in from striker Folarin Balogun to pledge his international future to England and snub Nigeria and the USA.
Balogun’s international future has dominated the media lately, following his fine form in the French Ligue.
Although the forward has featured for England’s U21 squad, but remain eligible to represent Nigeria, United States and England, at the senior international level.
There have been talks of secret meeting with United States technical crew, and it’s believed that Nigeria is also trying persuade him to switch his international allegiance after he missed out on a spot in Gareth Southgate’s senior squad for this month’s Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Smith Rowe, his teammates at Junior Three Lions and Arsenal, said he love to see Balogun to pledge his allegiance to England, but it down to him.
“Of course [I would prefer he chooses England], but it is his decision, that is down to him to do what he wants to do.
“It would be nice if he could be with us in the summer, but as I said, that is down to him and he has got to do what is best for him.” He said.
Balogun’s club future is also in the news as Arsenal is yet to assure him first team opportunity next season, despite his impressive run at Reims.
