Gerrard charges Aribo and Balogun to pick themselves up from UCL disappointment

Rangers Boss Steve Gerrard has told Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun to put the UEFA Champions League elimination behind them quickly.

The Super Eagles players featured in Rangers’ 2-1 defeat to Malmo FF in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League third round qualifiers at Ibrox on Tuesday.

The result wrapped up a bad week for the Gers who also lost their unbeaten run in the domestic league on Saturday.

Speaking on the team’s disappointing results in the Champions League, Gerrard said the aim of the team is to qualify for the next round, but unfortunately they failed along the way.

The Liverpool Legend charged the team to pick themselves up quickly and the ready for the Europa League.

We wanted to try and qualify for this competition (UCL), it was a priority. We have to pick ourselves up and be better first of all on Friday (League Cup) and in the Europa League.

We need to play better not just 45 minutes of one half, but for the entire game.” Gerrard said.
