Gimba lampooned NBBF and FIBA delay tactics after court strike out opposition case

Technical director and member of the League Management Board under the Tijani Umar led board of the Nigeria Basketball Federation Ibrahim Gimba has stated that the board will not be pursuing any case again after a High Court ruling in Abuja threw out the case instituted against the NBBF by the board.

Gimba speaking in a chat with brila.net said the measures taken all along have been to simply delay the process and frustrated the entreaties filed by the League Management Board.

He also added that since the tenure of the NBBF under Musa Kida expires this 2021, there is no point pursuing fresh action against the court ruling while fingering FIBA as culpable in the leadership tussle in Nigerian basketball.

“We’re not pursuing anything why should we be pursuing now, already the tenureship has finished now there should be an election by March all the Federations. Therefore they just prolonged the case with intent and for two years they couldn’t do anything. It’s not a new thing, from FIBA Africa, the whole FIBA body everybody is corrupt, it’s something that is very glaring.”
