Saviour Godwin says he’s delighted to make his first appearance for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The forward featured for the senior national team for the first time in their 2-2 draw against Algeria’s B team on Friday.
Godwin came on in the second half of the encounter in Constantine, and was impressive.
And speaking to NFF TV Godwin said, the moment is priceless for him and he’s looking forward for more opportunities.
“It was really amazing for me to play my first game for the Super Eagles I feel really excited. We had a test game this is good for everyone to get to know each other and get ourselves better.
“It was really an amazing outing for me and collectively as a team I feel this is a very good test game for us.”
Saviour also revealed the conversation between coach Jose Peseiro and the team before the game.
“The coach said every game is like a World Cup final we have to win every game, we have to have the mentality of winning.
“We have to have the ambition to win so that is what we went into the pitch with which is the mind set of winning.“
The Super Eagles go again on Tuesday, when they’ll lock horns with Algeria main team, and the forward believes the match will be tougher than that of Friday.
“Algeria is a big team, one of the finest in Africa and of course when we go into the pitch we want to win and I think it will be a really good game for us and we are surely going to win,” He concluded.
