Handball coach optimistic Nigeria will bounce back from terrible defeats

Nigeria’s national handball team coach, Solomon Yola has expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance so far despite suffering two losses at the ongoing 2019 IHF Emerging Nations Championship in Georgia.

Speaking with brila.net after the 19-27 loss to Bulgaria on Monday, Yola said although the boys were relaxed and prepared for the game, the loss suffered revealed a lot of areas to be worked upon.
“The boys are well motivated and relaxed. We have put the 3 matches behind us and are looking forward to giving our best in subsequent matches”, he wrapped.
Yola then went on to express optimism that his side would still bounce back ahead of the game on Wednesday against Malta.
“It is a big championship, everyone is prepared just as we are. We lost the first game and played a draw in the second game and lost the third. We are improving and its an opportunity for us to showcase our talent which we have started and we hope to finish the championship on a high note.”
The Nigerian team will still face Malta and the United States in the final group matches in Tbilisi. The 2019 IHF Emerging Nations Handball Championship is the third edition of the IHF Emerging Nations Championship held in Georgia under the aegis of International Handball Federation.
It started June 7 and will end on 16 June 2019. A total of twelve countries participate in the tournament.
