Heavyweight Boxing: Efe Ajagba Moves Two places in World Rankings

Nigerian boxer Efe Ajagba continues to get deserved recognition in the boxing heavyweight division.

The power puncher has now moved up two places to 13th spot in the latest WBC heavyweight rankings for February.

Ajagba ranked 15th in February and victory over Stephan Shaw, on January 14, at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York aided his movement to the top 12.

The 28 year-old dominated Shaw in almost all 10 rounds, as he recorded a unanimous victory over the American former unbeaten heavyweight star.

All three judged the fight 96-94 in his favor. Ajagba holds 17-1, 13 KOs record, with his solitary defeat coming at the hands of Cuban Olympics Champion Frank Sanchez in 2021.

Dillian Whyte, Martin Bakole, Zhan Kossobutskiy, Otto Wallin, Joseph Parker, Jared Anderson and Luis Ortiz are ranked ahead of him.

Meanwhile, WBC Champion Tyson Fury keeps his position as number one, while Oleksandr Usyk is number two.

Deontay Wilder is third and Anthony Joshua is ranked fourth ahead of Joe Joyce, Andy Ruiz, Frank Sanchez and Arslanbek Makhmudov.
