Super Eagles Assistant Coach, Salisu Yusuf has admitted that the chances of home-based players making the 2018 FIFA World Cup are very little.

Salisu spoke to brila.net in a brief chat on Sunday and stated exclusively that it will be difficult for any home-based player to make the squad.

According to him, he believes that every member of the Super Eagles is doing very well for their various clubs in Europe and beyond.

Salisu is pointing out the fact that the current form of the Super Eagles foreign professionals cannot be compared to the local players’ form.

“As you can see, each of our players abroad are playing well and scoring goals for their various clubs,” Salisu told brila.net.

“It will be difficult to slot in any home-based players as it stands right now”

“But some home based-players might still make the squad, but only on Emergency”

Coach Yusuf led the home-based Super Eagles to the finals of the 2018 CHAN Tournament in Morocco earlier in February.
