Nigeria Premier League (NPL) teams and stakeholders can now anticipate a higher prize for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.

The League body confirmed and its partners confirmed that the winner of the forthcoming season will receive a cash prize of 150 million naira.

This amount marks an increase from the 100 million naira awarded to the Champions in the previous season, Enyimba FC.

Also, the 20 teams in the top division will receive a takeoff grant to commence the season.

In the previous season, the league organizers provided the twenty elite clubs with a sum of 10 million naira as a takeoff grant.

This announcement has generated mixed reactions among the teams and fans, as the increased prize money provides an extra incentive for the clubs to compete fiercely throughout the season.

It is expected that this significant cash prize will further elevate the level of competition in the NPL and strengthen the financial stability of the league.
