I learnt a lot from Nigeria during friendly – Zimbabwe’s Chidzambwa

The Warriors of Zimbabwe’s coach, Sunday Chidzambwa has declared that he and his players learned a lot of lessons from Saturday’s international friendly against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

Although the game at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba ended goalless on Saturday, under torrential rain in the Delta State capital, Chidzambwa insists it was a solid learning point for his side, heading into this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The Warriors are in a tight Group A, alongside the hosts, Egypt as well as Uganda and DR Congo, ahead of which Chidzambwa believes his team got fresh tips on how to pull through, following their game with Nigeria.

While predicting that the Eagles will qualify for the knockout rounds of the upcoming 2019 AFCON in Egypt, Chidzambwa, in a chat with www.brila.net, believes his players too would be able to put to use the lessons learn in Asaba and during the qualifiers to scale through, against all forecasts.

”I have learned a lot of things from the Super Eagles. They were very good, I learnt something”.

“The best thing I learned was the way they support the ball carrier and the way they fall behind the ball, keeping possession”.

“Since we started this AFCON campaign we haven’t gone past the group stages but we are going to try to get past the group stages”.

“Both countries want to qualify. On our part, we will try to get past the group stage”.

“I think the Super Eagles are in an easier group, they are seeded too and with their play, they will be able to go past the group stages.”
