Iheanacho admits he has been short of confidence at Leicester City

Nigerian forward Kelechi Ihenacho has admitted he is getting his confidence back up after netting against Rennes on Thursday.

The Nigerian scores the second goal in the added time as the Foxes laboured to a 2-0 win over the visiting Rennes.

With the goal, Iheanacho ended his European drought and became the Leicester City’s best scorer in European competition since 2017 .

It also mean, the 25-year-old has now scored in seven different competitions for Club and Country this season.

Iheanacho who been deprived adequate game time by Brenda Rodgerthis season, stated that he’s happy with his performance and he’s now ready to build on it.

“I’m happy,” Iheanacho told LCFC TV. It’s been a while now, so I’m happy getting that goal and I’m getting my confidence up. Itwas a fantastic goal and it was great work from the team to get thegoal.

“Football is ups and downs, but you have to be patient for your timeto come. When it comes, you have to take it, so that’s what I did.” He said .

Iheanacho would be in action when the Foxes take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.

Iheanacho and his mates have come under scrutiny for struggling to defend set-pieces this season, but they have kept three consecutive clean sheets in the last three games .
