Ilechukwu Urges Rangers to Keep Title in View

In a bid to secure this season’s Nigeria Premier Football League title, Enugu Rangers’ coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has issued a stern directive to his players, emphasizing the need to maintain unwavering dedication.

Ilechukwu stated this in the wake of their recent ascent to the league standings following a 2-1 victory over local rivals Heartland last Sunday.

The Flying Antelopes dominated proceedings securing their goals through Ifeanyi Onyekachi and Kelechi Nweke in the first half.

Despite a late consolation goal from Chukwuebuka Ogbonna for Heartland, Rangers emerged victorious.

Reflecting on the team’s performance, Ilechukwu expressed satisfaction, describing the encounter as a clash between two formidable opponents.

“It was a great game between two great sides, and I am very glad that we ended the game on the winning side,” he remarked.

“We worked very hard to earn this victory, and I thank God for it. Hopefully, we shall keep the momentum to push higher in the league and maintain that fight till we achieve our aim of winning the title.”

Rangers top the NPFL table with 48 points from 27 matches, and are unbeaten in their last nine outings.

As the season progresses, all eyes are on Enugu Rangers as they strive to reclaim the coveted league title. The team’s last NPFL title triumph dates back to 2016.
