Former Junior international Yinka Adedeji says he regretted not making an appearance for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Adedeji was part of the golden generation of the Flying Eagles squad that helped Nigeria reach the final of the 2005 U20 FIFA World Cup in Netherlands.
The Shooting Stars player also represented Nigeria U23 level, but a call up to the senior National team (Super Eagles) eluded him, before retiring from the game.
“Yea , I think it’s every body’s dream to play for the Super Eagles at that moment ” He said in an interview with NPFL undiluted on Tuesday.
The former Sunshine Stars man, added that injury and other factors cost him a place in the Super Eagles at the time.
“When most of my colleagues were getting into the Super Eagles set up then, I was nursing lot of injuries.”
“I wasn’t in good shape .If I may remember, I was with Sunshine Stars and it wasn’t a good time for me then , because I was nursing injuries and other factors I don’t want to talk about because, I might hurt certain people if I start mentioning names . But It has nothing to do with the National team, but my clubs back.“
