Kano Pillars manager Lionel Emmanuel Soccoia is confident his side will get the required results against AS Jafaar to ensure qualifications for the second CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round.
Kano Pillars will host the Senegalese side this weekend with the hope of overturning the 3 – 1 first leg defeat they suffered in Dakar last weekend.
The Sai Masu Gida needs at least a victory a 2 – 0 win to be guaranteed a place in the next round of the CAF second elite football competition.
The match will be played at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium on Saturday and Soccoia is optimistic that his boys are capable of overturning the tie around.
“The most important thing is, as long as we’re creating opportunities, but we certainly need to be taking them, there are no two ways about it. A comeback is possible,”
“We have been training ahead of the game against ASC Jaraaf. We want to win by 2-0 or 3-0 in the second leg. It is very important we qualify.”
“In the first leg game in Senegal, we looked tired after a good first 45 minutes,” he recalled.
“Now we have rested and are ready for the game in Kaduna.”
“We want to score goals and not concede. We need to win for the fans, the team, and Kano Pillars. It is very important that we win.” he said to Futbalgalore.com.ng.
Soccoia was contracted to help the Club challenge for the CAF Confederations cup and failure to progress could earn him a sack.
