Embattled Akwa United Coach, Rafael Everton said the decision to axe him from the bench for the NPFL Super 6 match against Rangers was from above and he hasn’t been issued an official explanation why.
Everton told www.brila.net that only the club chairman, Paul Bassey, can give reasons for his absence despite the team still in contention for a continental ticket before the suspension notice.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian revealed he still has a contract with the club until October and it has not been terminated, yet.
‘You will have to ask the Chairman, He asked me to step aside against Enyimba, but I don’t know why. I still have a contract with the club until October, and nobody has told me otherwise.
‘I don’t know why I was asked to step aside, at the time we were doing good because I didn’t lose any game in the Super 6 and suddenly I was asked stay away for the Enyimba game.’
