Super Eagles duo Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina have been nominated for the 2025 Premier League Team of the Season, following standout campaigns with Fulham and Nottingham Forest respectively.

With the 2024/25 Premier League season nearing its conclusion, EA SPORTS FC unveiled a 40-man shortlist for its Team of the Season award, celebrating players who have made a significant impact over the course of the campaign.

Iwobi and Aina’s inclusion highlights their impressive contributions to their clubs and country.

Ola Aina has been instrumental for Nottingham Forest, one of this season’s surprise packages.

The versatile fullback started 30 consecutive league games before a calf injury sidelined him during Forest’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United on April 1.

Adding two goals and one assist to his performance this season, Aina’s defensive consistency and attacking contributions have earned him widespread praise.

Alex Iwobi, meanwhile, has enjoyed a career-best Premier League season at Fulham.

The midfielder has scored eight goals and provided five assists in 38 appearances, helping Fulham push for a European qualification spot.

Currently sitting ninth in the table with 48 points, Fulham trail sixth-placed Chelsea by just six points.

Iwobi’s performances have not only driven Fulham’s charge but also saw him reach a personal milestone becoming the first Nigerian to record more than 30 goals and 30 assists in PL history.

Aina features among the defensive nominees alongside the likes of Virgil van Dijk, William Saliba, and Antonee Robinson.

Meanwhile, Iwobi, in the midfield category, is shortlisted with top names like Bruno Fernandes, Declan Rice, Moisés Caicedo, and Bruno Guimarães.

Voting for the Premier League Team of the Season closes on Sunday, April 20.
