Kwara United returned to the top of the Nigeria professional football league after a 2-0 win over Nasarawa United on Sunday.
The Harmony Boys reclaimed the lead from Akwa United who moved to the top for the first time this season after Saturday’s draw with Sunshine Stars of Akure.
Nasarawa United proved to be a difficult side to crack as they failed to concede much chance to the hosts in the first half of the game.
The first goal managed to arrive two minutes before an hour mark when Samuel Ganda managed to beat Nasarawa United’s back-line to blast home the opener. Jude Stephen with the assist.
The home side sealed the victory in the 82nd minute through Michael Ohanu who collected another pass from Jude Stephen and slot him past Nasarawa United goalkeeper.
The victory moves the Harmony Boys to the first position on the log with 36 points from 19 matches.
