Ahead of all importantof CAF Confederations Cup semi-final second leg between Enyimba international of Nigeria and Raja Casablanca of Morocco on Wednesday, Enyimba influential duo of Theophilos Afelokhai and Austine Oladapo, believes they can turn the tie around and reach the final.

 

Raja Casablanca won the first leg of the encounter played at Aba township stadium two weeks ago through Abdelilah Hafidi’s first CAF Confederation Cup goal since March as the midfielder struck three minutes into the second half. Enyimba had a chance to draw level late in the game but Stanley Dimgba wasted golden opportunity, blasting a penalty over the bar.

Raja, led by Spanish coach Juan Carlos Garrido needs avoid defeat in the front of their home crowd to book a place in the final, while the Nigerians needs nothing but a victory with two goals margin.

While many believed the Aba Warlord stands no chance of reaching their first CAF Confederations Cup final, the duo of Theophilos Afelokhai and Austine Oladapo said the team optimistic they can come out on top over the two leg.

 

While speaking with Brila.net’s Oluwaseyi Alao, after arriving Morocco yesterday, Goalkeeper Afelokhai said the boys are fired up and ready to deliver.

“We know it’s not going to be easy for us , in and out of the field but we are ready for the challenge. We are working hard to get the desired result, if they can beat us at home, then we can also do the same come Wednesday”

Midfielder ,Austine Oladapo also echoed the voice of his teammate, saying Enyimba’s history of coming out victorious in a difficult position will repeat itself again.

He said:”We are approaching the game with everything, knowing fully well our only chance of qualifying for the final is to win. And that is our focus now, it football anything can happen, if they can beat us at home, we can do same here in Morroco but we must work hard”.

Enyimba are hoping to reach a final of CAF football competition again after winning the CAF Champions league back to back in 2013 and 2014.
