Lauritta Onye eyes Nigeria’s GOLD medal in world para-athletics championship FINAL DAY

Nigerian Paralympian, Lauritta Onye has expressed her readiness to increase team Nigeria’s Medal haul ahead of her meet at the ongoing 2019 world para-athletics championship in Dubai which serves as qualification for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics games.

The 2016 Paralympic gold medalist, told brila.net that she hopes to get a gold medal and pick a ticket for the Paralympics when she participates in the F-40 shot put on Friday.

 

Lauritta will hope to improve her personal best record of 8.40 and beat Polish world record holder SLIWINSKA Renata on 8.70 and in the shot put F40 event.

 

Nigeria team which comprises of the quartet of Lauritta Onye, Ifeanyi Christian, Unyime Uwak and Flora Ugwunwa at the championship, has gotten just one Silver medal won by Flora Ugwunwa, Paralympic gold medalist and world record holder in F54 Javelin.
