With reports suggesting Arsenal are set to spend big this summer with over £200m as plans to rebuild the team and steady the rocky ship, former player Overmars has been touted as the top candidate to fill in the position of Sporting Director for the club as part of the plans for the future when Wenger leaves.
Overmars, who spent three years at Arsenal and won the Double in 1998, is currently director of football at Ajax.
